The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Theatre & Dance is thrilled to be hosting the 2016 North-Central Regional ACDA Conference. Our theme, Presence In Practice is guiding how we think, imagine, and organize our conference.  From March 19-23 we’ll be taking an intimate and thoughtful look at the ways we create, perform, view, think about and discuss dance.

Presence In Practice provides a lens to participate in the conference for all students and faculty.  We encourage you to consider how presence impacts your work, how practice sustains you, and ultimately how presence in your own practice can take your work to the next level.  To support this aim, an array of master classes in a variety of techniques, lectures and panel discussions on topics including viewing and writing about dance, sound and lighting design seminars, documentary screenings, composition workshops and, of course, plenty of live dance will be presented over the four-day conference. We are also interested in furthering the dialogue about dance in higher education with round table discussions on topics suggested by participants, a Tap Summit lead by UWSP faculty Jeannie Hill, and a special performance to welcome everyone and kick-off the conference.
