Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy Presents “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” November 19

The Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy Presents

The Academy and Pre-Academy students of Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy proudly present ‘Twas the night before Christmas. This new work by Rolando Yanes is based on the immortal poem and features an array of splendid holiday characters. Meet Marie, Santa and Miss Santa, the Dream Fairy, the Curious Mouse, the Toy Soldier, Santa’s Elves, Reindeer and more!

It’s Christmas Eve, and as she sleeps beside the fireplace, Marie dreams of a journey to a magical land. The land is filled with toys and elves playing and working happily! See Santa and Miss Santa dance with the reindeer before they leave the land of magic to bring joy to children all around the world.

Rolando Yanes says “in creating ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, I wanted to incorporate different styles into the choreography. The students have been enjoying the challenges of weaving the classical, contemporary, and hip-hop techniques together. In rehearsals, they are learning how to create characters and dance as principals or soloists. This process is mirroring how rehearsal works for the Company, and preparing them for the experience they will eventually have later in their dance education.”

See ‘Twas the night before Christmas on Sunday November 19 at 12pm at South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center. The running time for the performance is approx 55 minutes in one act.

Tickets are $21 and are on sale now. Call South Milwaukee PAC at 414-766-5049 or buy online. Please buy tickets in advance as SMPAC Box Office cannot accommodate a large amount of walk-up traffic.

Perfect for ages 3 and up. Warm up for the holidays and support the talent and hard work of our Academy students!
