Cedric Gardner, a top 14 finalist on the third season of the American dance contest series, “So You Think You Can Dance”, began dancing with his mother at the age of seven years old. He studied for two years at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and practiced at the “Millennium Dance Company” and the “Edge Performing Arts Center” in Los Angeles. At the age of eighteen Cedric, created “Fuel”, a Milwaukee based Hip Hop dance company, where he choreographed full length shows. During this time, he also performed with Neil Young’s “Greendale”, and under his artistic direction performed on opening for entertainers such as; Little Bow Wow, India Arie, and Fantasia Burino.
While on the “So You Think You Can Dance” show, Cedric was given a full scholarship to the “Debbie Allen Dance Academy”, which he accepted. Opportunities have continued for Cedric after appearing on “So You Think You Can Dance”. As a working professional, Cedric has had the privilege of working with choreographers such as: Brian Friedman, Debbie Allen, Dave Scott, Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels, Napoleon and Tabitha, Nick Flores, Poppin Pete and Shane Sparks. His unique and innovative “freestyle” dance technique allowed him to perform with, Gloria Estefan, Herbie Hancock, Neil Young, NE-YO (Macy’s Celebrity Catwalk), and Sheila E. Cedric has also performed on “Macy’s Celebrity Catwalk Challenge” and “America Idol Gives Back”.
