The Logging and Heritage Festival will be on July 14, 2018, at the Stephenson Island Park in Marinette, WI. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. and features live entertainment, music, craft and food vendors from local organizations and business and a variety of events. Informational areas will be spaced out on the west side of the island, featuring displays from Wisconsin Trappers, the Historical Preservation Commission, the Marinette Genealogy Group, Tri-City Area United Way and others. Natural history items will be on display from 1 to 4 p.m. by TOAD (Teaching Outdoor Awareness & Discovery).
New this year is Indian classical Kathak dancer Anindita Neogy Anaam, who will be performing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the large pavilion. Anaam has been dancing since she was four years old, and has given performances in India, Germany and the U.S. She performs weekly during the “Out to Lunch” event series every Thursday at the Marinette Welcome Center.
“She has won so many awards, it’s really kind of awesome that we have her in our community,” said Melissa Ebsch, the new marketing and tourism director for the City of Marinette and Marinette County.
