WDC Scholarships
2025 Scholarship
Each year, the Wisconsin Dance Council provides equitable need-based scholarships for talented students enrolled in eighth grade to college who seek opportunities for summer intensive training experiences.
Wisconsin Dance Council Members may nominate one student for this annual scholarship opportunity. Applicants will be evaluated based on their ability to display a serious interest in dance, strong dance technique, and financial need.
The WDC encourages member educators to nominate a student for scholarship consideration and to support more dancers in local dance communities by informing them about our organization and the unique opportunities our scholarships can offer to dancers in need of financial support.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria
Applicants Must Meet the Following Criteria:
– Resident of the State of Wisconsin at the time of application and during the summer intensive program.
– Currently enrolled in eighth grade, high school or college.

Testimonials of Impact
“Our need-based scholarship for summer intensive programs, made possible by your financial support of WDC members, permits Wisconsin students to experience dance in life-altering, invaluable ways. I personally feel that this scholarship is the most important service that we provide as an organization.”
– Simone Ferro, Past President
“Circus Smirkus was an unforgettable experience that I will never be able to forget as it changed my life….By the end of the tour, I was so sad to leave the Smirkus community, they were people who I lived with, cared for, and performed with for ten weeks. I am so incredibly grateful for being able to call myself a Smirko and I am so excited to be able to go back again next year for my senior year.”
– 2024 Scholarship Recipient, Azy Berge’s reflection on receiving a WDC Scholarship to participate in Circus Smirkus, a youth-traveling tented circus that tours throughout New England.
